Hi!
My name is Rachel Thiessen and I am delighted to be your child’s Grade 3/4 teacher this year! I am so excited to be at J.A. Cuddy School and to share my passion for learning with my students. I love working with children and feel so lucky that I have the opportunity to do this everyday. I look forward to partnering with you to provide the best care and education possible for your child.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in June 2013 from the University of Winnipeg with a major in math and a minor in psychology. I began teaching Kindergarten and Grade 1 at Oak Bluff Community School, where I was both a student and student teacher. This past school year, I had the opportunity to teach Manitoba’s Grade 3 curriculum in an International School in Guangzhou, China. After a great year teaching abroad, I am thrilled to be back in my hometown of Sanford for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. Outside of school, I enjoy a number of sports including ringette and running. I am an animal lover and I have two cats named Dylan and Love. I am very interested in learning about different cultures and as a result, love to travel. I have been very fortunate to travel to different parts of North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. My goal for the upcoming school year is to establish a classroom environment in which all students feel safe to take risks in their learning and are given opportunities to reach their full potential. Should you have any questions or concerns at any point in the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to a fantastic year of learning with your child! |
